This is my first attempt at time lapse  It has come out much better than I expeced.  The camera was set on a tabletop tripod and set to take 70 shots at 30 second intervals.  The bright "star" is in fact Jupiter.

Each exposure was 4 seconds, F2.8, ISO 1600, 16mm (equiv 32mm).

The jerkiness in the video is because I haven't learned how to re-size the video properly.  I also changed the frame rate, and it went a bit belly up!  The camera produced  both raw and jpegs, and also a ".MOV" video.  Two of the frames in the video had really horrible lights, so I used Gimp to clean up both jpegs and then recombined the lot in Shotcut.  This took less than 30 minutes.
