I was due to go for a walk with some friends that would pass by an Argentinian field gun which was captured during the Falklands war. Heavy artillery seemed like a great way to interpret this week's theme "Heavy".
Unfortunately, a wheely bin got blown over in Scotland, so an Amber weather alert was declared and our walk had to be cancelled!
A quick bit of research revealed that there is an artillery museum an hour away at Fort Nelson on Portsdown Hill, near Portsmouth.
What a wonderful place! Free parking, very interesting, polite and helpful staff ... and tons of interesting exhibits. I think that National Trust could learn a thing or two here. We shall visit again. for sure.
